Mushrooms: Can they help you and ...
save the Planet?
Over this past Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend I attended Sonoma Mycological Association’s SOMA camp held at the CYO camp between Freestone and Occidental in Sonoma. It wasn’t the first time that I had gone to camp there. I have been a few times before, but it felt like a homecoming, this time, after the pandemic scrapped our gatherings in 2021 and 2022. It was wonderful to be with mushroom people again (some of the best people on the planet). They are on a mission to save us all, and the planet too (more about that later).

This is the largest mushroom folk gathering in the US, I am told. There were probably 300 people there. And, because of that, and Covid, the doors were left open with the fans on. It is normally not really warm there, but that made it downright cold! Fortunately, everyone is very warm and welcoming, and makes up for that, at least somewhat!
